GUEST SPEAKER PROGRAMS
(For 2007 Eagle Watching Season)

Reelfoot Lake State Park is once again providing programs in the AIRPARK INN on FRIDAY and SATURDAY NIGHTS at 7:00 PM. This is one of our most popular winter activities, along with the Eagle Tours. On Friday nights, the Reelfoot Naturalist Staff will offer an introductory program dealing with the American Bald Eagles and Reelfoot Lake. Guest speakers are invited to talk about a variety of topics on Saturday nights. These programs are free to all who wish to attend. We have a wide variety of excellent speakers for 2006. Please make plans to join us for these interesting and informative programs about Reelfoot Lake’s natural wonders.

JANUARY 20TH REELFOOT LAKE: PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE:
Dr. Winfred Smith will share his knowledge and great photography of the Reelfoot area. This program explores the formation, history, ecology and natural beauty of Reelfoot.

JANUARY 27th BIRDS OF PREY: Jerry Hall, Reelfoot Lake State Park's Interpretive Specialist will introduce you to the injured Raptors that call Reelfoot home. He will shed some light on their importance to the ecology and economy of this area.

FEBUARY 3RD RAPTOR REHABILITATION: Join Knox Martin, Coordinator of Raptor Rehab for Memphis Zoo. He will enlighten you on the efforts to rehabilitate and release injured Birds of Prey. You will also get a chance to visit with a variety of non-releasable birds!

*FEBUARY 10TH SAVE OUR AMERICAN RAPTORS: John Stokes and Dale Kernahan will give the audience an extraordinary opportunity to experience birds of prey at close range. Their program will contain a variety of hawks, owls, eagles and other majestic birds, some of which will be allowed to free fly. Allowing the audience an unforgettable experience. 7:00 PM & 8:00 PM.

MARCH 3RD ARCHAEOLOGY: Bill Lawrence, State Archaeologist will present a program on the prehistory of the Reelfoot Region. Learn about the people who lived here for thousands of years.
